The Sample Room in Saint Anthony

I love this place! It’s definitely a neighborhood gem as it never seems too crowded. The wine flights are my favorite, but the food is delicious too (love going here for charcuterie).

Delicious, high quality, and wonderful atmosphere. The menu rotates often and is always based on fresh, local ingredients. Perfect for catching up with a friend and sharing a variety of items. Well worth the couple excuses bucks you'd spend on basic bar food if you appreciate a thoughtful and creative experience.

The Sample Room is well named. It's an excellent venue for sampling unique and very original creations or well crafted variations on old favorites. The perfect place for familiar fare and adventurous diners! The Sample Room should be on your A list!

Great Sunday brunch menu. Superb service. Pictured here is the Fried chicken egg Benedict and hash brown with cheddar cheese. The hollandaise sauce was delightful. Chicken was tender and breaded perfectly. I’m excited to try everything on the menu!!

The location of the building itself is very unique, and feels like it has the entire block to itself. The décor and set up inside were very nice, but because the weather wasn't that great, the place was darker than my coworkers and I would have cared for (which is the reason for the four-star rating).I got the Bottineau Burger (which was solid, but I wish there was a bigger slab of pork belly than the small piece that was on it), and my coworkers got the BLT, and the cheese platter. I don't know what it was, but I think there was also a tomato jam that was used in the BLT, which definitely took it to another level. The cheese platter was nice, and what you would expect--nothing too crazy, and no surprises.

We wanted to try the menu and we were not disappointed, the popcorn with bacon fat and truffle oil was packed with flavor and tasty. We also got an order of the cheese curds, they were very tasty with a little siracha flavor. Heat was minimal. The “Nordeast Fish N Chips” was very tasty. The fries were top notch and the fish was flaky and moist and the batter was crunchy and crisp. I would recommend asking for an extra serving of the tarter sauce as they smear the plate with it but more is always better. 😁

Cozy neighborhood spot With fantastic cocktails and small-plate offerings. loved the Cajun shrimp and grits, the charcuterie plate was worth every penny. waitress informed us that the whole menu switches up frequently.My wife and I and a couple neighborhood friends look for a new spot to eat before we go see the Walker British Arrow Awards every year. This place fit the bill perfectly. Handsome woodwork, dimly lit, not too noisy, found a comfy booth, memorable night.

Usually dark and moody lovely bar with old tin ceiling and great atmosphere. Right now they are serving outside only and it's just as great. Awesome food and wonderful service. Made me feel good about being able to go out to eat right now.

I ate there. I didn't think I would like it. I really really liked the steak. Wife liked the salmon. Cheese plate was "meh", but good service, atmosphere, people. A little on the high price side. Would go again.

The food was excellent as always. Our waitress disappeared, came with the check before were done eating, and never even asked about whether we wanted dessert and was gone so long that I asked another waiter to take our check. Sample Room deserves better.

I had this delicious raspberry beer. As you can see they had their whole works displayed by their windows.Was good. I like the atmosphere of the place. The music was great. This place sure does get crowded! We couldn't find a seat 😅.

The Sample Room is an experience. Unique, creative, 5 star food in a fantastic atmosphere. I've been here multiple times and have never once been disappointed. Their specials are always something incredible and "here today, gone tomorrow" type specials, highly recommend trying one while you're there. The New Years 7 course meal was something I'll never forget, a true dining experience. If you have the chance to eat here, don't pass it up!

Amazingly delicious! The best grits I have had anywhere in the Midwest. Great atmosphere and our waiter was very pleasant and very prompt! With great food, staff, atmosphere, and location we are definitely visiting often.

Great spot for small plates. Went for lunch. I had the fried goat cheese and a slice of meatloaf. Both were excellent. Service was great. They have a nice outdoor area as well. I will be back for Happy Hour 3 - 6 pm!

I’ve been to The Sample Room twice - once pre-COVID and once this past week. Both times have been excellent and I’d highly recommend visiting this restaurant! It’s a great place to enjoy a cocktail, eat some delicious food, and enjoy time with friends/family - plus the service is attentive and kind. Try getting a spot on the patio if you can!

We do brunch here often. Rachel is an awesome server. The corned beef hash is wonderful. Steak and eggs are great!

This is my "go to" place for GOOD food. Fresh, handmade and creative. The current executive chef, Ashley Estrada is awesome. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully prepared. That woman can cook a steak!!! The atmosphere is relaxing, but with an up beat vibe!

I was really impressed with the happy hour menu. The prices and quality of ingredients and preparation were almost astounding. Our server was knowledgeable and read the table well--providing solid service on a busy night. You can really tell that the chef(s) here care about the dishes and have some talent. Will have to be back to try the cocktails. One of the best dining expierences of the year for me for sure--a simple date night ending in full bellies and big smiles.

Really delicious food/drinks! Everything is served as samples so you can share all your food with the whole table. I would absolutely recommend the cheese board with wine flights.

Small plates, a nice selection of wine flights. Two plates we tried were salmon with shaved Brussels sprouts with bacon and an attentively spicy blue cheese grits shrimp bowl. Splitting these two made a fun date. The room is intimate and tightly packed. The happy hour menu looked nice.

Smallest/coolest bar!! I love that you can hear the person your talking too!! It’s so close to Betty dangers/Susies but don’t forget about this place!!! Really cool vibe and good food! They also have happy hour!!!

This is definitely my favorite place in the cities! Amazing service, great cocktails (I love the beet shrub ones), and food is on point. Love the reasonable prices and variety of dishes with amazing flavors and yet simple! Head chef Ashley is amazing. Server Mara is so thoughtful and accommodating. I take all of my out of town guests here and they want to come back every time they visit (plus then I get to try more things).

Decent choice of wine for the wine flights. Ordered the cheese board which had a diverse selection of cheeses on display. Wonderful vibe and didn't have to wait for a table even though we had no reservation.

We were traveling to the Minneapolis area for vacation and was recommended this place from a mutual friend. We were very pleased with the entire experience! The atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. Jay was our tour guide for the evening and ordered everything for us which was a great surprise! We were not disappointed with anything! Great variety of local brews, amazing history with the building and long time employees! We will definitely be visiting again when we return! Thank you for a wonderful evening!!

All scratch kitchen. Pork belly... how about lamb belly. Crab cakes... how about lions mane mushroom cakes. Generous portions of a medium sized menu. Why have 60 items and poorly execute 45 when 20 works and you crush every time. Highly recommend.
